Greening-up.

Cloudless skies, a few Swallows about, and the distant Chestnut canopies beginning to turn green.

It's what I've been waiting for. I can feel my annual depression lifting, warm blood once again rushing merrily through my veins, and my regular smile broadening by the minute.

I try not to moan too much about Winter, especially on these pages; but jeeze how I hate it.

A July baby needs July weather, and at last I can anticipate its return; slowly, yes, but I can feel it.

  1. I know just what you mean. Despite some not so great moments today, the 50 shades of green outside and the warm sunshine kept my spirits mostly high. :) It's a great time of year.

    1. I wouldn't mind the cold weather if it was just for two months. It goes on too long.

  2. Lovely - shivering here today 18 degrees but it feels colder and a drizzle all day.

    1. 0 C here this morning, and 20 C for this afternoon. If I was the sort of person who could sleep till mid-day; I probably would.

  6. I've never felt that way about Winter ..... maybe because I'm a February baby !!! To me, having Winter makes Spring even more beautiful. I love the four seasons and could never live anywhere that was hot all the time ... still, it's a good job that we are all different isn't it ? Makes life more interesting !! XXXX

    1. I wouldn't want no winter either, but please could we have shorter ones?

    2. Likewise, I love the four seasons, it would be very boring to have summer all the time. I like all the indoorsy things you can do in winter, and then I love to get outside in Spring. But I agree Cro, winter could do with being shorter, around here it seems to go on for six months!

    1. We're never satisfied, are we Yael. It's either too hot or too cold; too dry or too wet.

  8. Know how you feel. Winter seems to get harder and longer as we get older, not sure if its just us. I can't wait for the car boots to start each year around the end of March and love to see the trees bursting with that wonderful new green as we drive out into the country.

  13. My thoughts exactly. Oh, how I love the greening of my world. We had an unusually warm winter, but the trees were bare and the grass was yellow. We are having rain, but I don't mind as I know things are growing outside and there will be even more color tomorrow.

    1. To a certain extent Winter is depressing for everyone, it's just that some of us suffer more than others.
